The Barlow's Student Council gives
our pupils the chance to voice their thoughts
Student Councillors are nominated
by their classmates and represent each Family Group across all the Years.
Each half-term they meet to debate and discuss issues which are
important to students, as determined by the Councillors. The
Council makes recommendations to the the Headteacher about
school issues such as teaching and learning, student
behaviour, rewards, extra-curricular activities and school
In early 2013, all members of the
Student Council took part in a tasting session to help develop a
new school menu. The Council also meet regularly to discuss the
results of Pupil Voice surveys; where every pupil completes a
questionnaire about their experiences in school. The Student
Council discuss why they think pupils have certain views and
suggest ways in which the school can continue to improve.
