The Barlow RC High School is a leading 11-16 Catholic High School situated in East Didsbury, Manchester.  Established in 1985, the school is a Catholic, co-educational, voluntary aided comprehensive that is part of the Salford diocesan family of schools.  The Barlow is a diverse and fully inclusive community and as such we welcome pupils of all faiths and none.  We are a high performing school, and this was recognised by Ofsted in June 2019 when The Barlow was judged to be at least ‘Good’ in all areas.  Our most recent diocesan Section 48 inspection rated the school as ‘Good’ with elements of ‘Outstanding’.

The Barlow provides an excellent Catholic education for young people in Manchester and the surrounding areas.  We are a school that embraces Christian values, fosters academic excellence, delivers a broad, balanced, challenging, knowledge-rich curriculum and ensures the highest quality of teaching and learning.  We have an experienced, highly skilled, and committed teaching staff who set consistently high expectations and provide a superb learning environment for all our pupils, regardless of their academic ability.

The Barlow is a school where pupils feel safe, happy and valued.  We pride ourselves in our relentless drive to ensure that all pupils flourish; and grow into well-rounded, respectful, confident, successful, young people.  This achievement is built on high quality pastoral care and guidance, as well as the close partnership we form with parents and carers to ensure the best possible education for each and every one of our pupils.   We set high standards not only academically but in terms of behaviour and uniform and we instil in our students the importance of fairness, in which, individual dignity is upheld and respected.  We nurture our young people to be proud of promoting our Christian values of service, prayer, achievement and respect for all.
